Job Description

The Victoria Recreation Club has 170 years of sporting history in Hong Kong and is considered the “Father” of all local sporting clubs.  Responsible for founding the National Olympic Committee of Hong Kong and achieving Hong Kong’s entry into the International Olympic Committee, its proud achievements also include being the founder of the Amateur Swimming Association and a co-founder of the Amateur Athletic Association. Today it is an inclusive, friendly Club, with a culturally mixed membership that welcomes sports people and families alike. 

Scope of Work :

Management of overall Club accounting and finance. Provide all accounting services - bookkeeping, account receivable and payable, membership payments, Club P&L, monthly and annual financial reports.  Maintain and upkeep all accounting and financial records of the Club in accordance with the statutory legal accounting requirements of Hong Kong SAR.

Key Tasks :

  • To manage all accounting and financial matters of the Club.
  • To manage all account receivable in an efficient and timely manner.
  • To manage all account payable in an effective and timely manner.
  • To prepare and distribute regular billings to members.
  • To follow up on members’ outstanding payment.
  • Accurate data entry and maintenance of all payments and books of accounts.
  • To manage the profit & loss of the Club. Advise the General Manager and the General Committee on Club financial status.
  • Jointly with the Club administration staff, obtain Club approval and renew Club licenses, insurance policies and service contracts in a timely manner.
  • To manage and maintain effective cash flow for Club operations.
  • Jointly with Club supervisors, prepare weekly, monthly and year-end inventory reports in a timely manner.
  • To perform regular internal edits ensuring cashiering procedures and record keeping are accurately performed.
  • To support and assist with the company secretarial and annual audit work.
  • Jointly with the Clubhouse/General Managers, process office and Club item sourcing and procurement.
  • To arrange and process employee monthly payroll in a timely manner.
  • To prepare and provide monthly statements, management reports and annual Club financial reports in a timely manner.
  • To assist in maintaining members’ database.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in accounting
  2. 8 years’ accounting working experience and at least 3 years’ in handling full set of accounts
  3. Excellent computer skills. Knowledge in accounting software is essential
  4. Experience with audit firm is an advantage
  5. Good verbal and written English
  6. Independent, organised and good time management
