PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
? Provide international standard orthopedic care to patients within the scope of privileges granted and the capabilities of the organization, including but not limited to consultations; patient rounds, either individually, or as part of a team; discontinuing drains, dressings changes, would assessments, staple and suture removal, cast and splint applications and removal as indicated, etc.
? Provides patient education related to procedures, medications, therapeutic goals, etc.
? Collaborate with colleagues both in the hospital and from outside hospitals in the establishment of diagnoses and treatments of therapies and discharge needs both in the inpatient and outpatient setting
? Follow all UFH and SHU polices and processes, including meeting all documentation and privacy requirements
? Assesses patient’s progress through extended hospital course, utilizes available resources, and intervenes as necessary to ensure that optimal patient outcomes are achieved; act as resource for nursing staff regarding patient care issues
? Staff outpatient surgical clinic
? Share call as needed with orthopedic colleagues to ensure SHU has 24 hour orthopedic coverage
? Perform independent surgery on privileged cases; assist consultants on surgical cases as indicated
? Works on quality improvement activities within the department in collaboration with Orthopedic Section Chief, Chairman of Surgery, and CMO; Work closely with Section Chief of Orthopedics and Chair of Surgery to support section and departmental goals
? Serve on hospital/clinic committee(s) as directed by superiors
? Keep up to date with developments in the field of Orthopedic Surgery, participate in appropriate Continuing Medical Education seminars and course in order to fulfill the requirements of the appropriate Specialist College; and, where clinically appropriate, to be able to offer the latest treatments
? Teach and supervise relevant staff, in support of the development of the field of Orthopedic Surgery, as appropriate
? Support and work closely with the Hospital’s marketing team in promoting the practice of Orthopedic Surgery as well as participating in various other activities of the Hospital as may be required from to time. Including, for example, developing and writing appropriate educational and promotional materials(such as videos, brochures, lectures, etc) on Orthopedic Surgery and giving talks and seminars, attending functions etc.
? Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Section Chief, Department Chairman and/or CMO
任职资格:
QUALIFICATIONS
Board Certification or equivalent in Orthopedic surgery
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
? Doctor of medicine degree of equivalent completed from an accredited school of medicine
? Completed full training in Orthopedic surgery in an accredited training program
? Active licensure in state, province, or country of origin or past residence.
? At least 5-10 years clinical surgical experience
? Preference for candidates with expertise in total joint replacement, pediatric orthopedics, or spine surgery
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
? English fluency required
? Mandarin fluency highly desired
? KEY SKILLS:
Ability to interpret history, exam findings, labs, and test results to synthesize an operative or non-operative or non-operative management plan according to international standards.
