Job Description
Responsibilities & Duties (Critical Success Factors):
Customers management:
- Principle contact point for all communication with customers in the NPD process;
- Manage customer expectations and provide options for technical solutions to design challenges;
- Close coordination with key account customers on product requirements and other project deliverables, such as sampling;
- Identify, design and recommend promotion packs / projects to Targus sales team for customers to generate sales or upsell;
- Timely response to new business enquiries and opportunities;
- Participate in customer strategic planning;
Project management:
· Fully responsible from products requirements analysis, design, scheduling, testing and shipment arrangement; · Lead cross-functional team to deliver new products on time, at right cost and specification;
- Work closely with Global Sourcing Group on product specifications, development and launching processes;
- Source/design, select and identify suitable products to fit customers’ needs and requirements;
- Keep update of latest market trends, methodologies, materials, designs, …etc. & provide expertise solutions to sales;
- Prioritize and manage projects schedule and communicate appropriately;
Others:
- Participate in product design and innovation forums, internally and externally, that are intended to explore new concepts;
- Regularly report on new product ramp up status to Senior Management and also provide product availability to Sales and Product Management;
- Contribute to product roadmap development and portfolio management.
Essential qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:
- University graduate from Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience in consumer goods product environment;
- Solid experience in projects management with interfaces with manufacturing/engineering, sales/product management and customers;
- Working knowledge of new product development & manufacturing processes;
- Thorough understanding of financial impact of decisions;
- Ability to manage customers and suppliers in both foreign and domestic markets;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with changing priorities;
- Material knowledge on plastic, fabric will be an added advantage;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin;
- Good collaborative skill and good at working with people from different levels
- Self-motivated, analytical, tactful with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills and hands-on experience in MS office
