Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1.To work together with other Shanghai office members to maintain relationship and provide interaction between Headquarters and Chinese suppliers in all stages of pre-production & manufacturing process of garments collections.
2.Cooperation with Headquarters colleagues and Shanghai office members, implementing quality management procedure to ensure sample and production schedule.
3. Assist Moscow Office Sourcing Dept in developing new suppliers, establish initial contacts, require company profile, evaluation form and sample quotation.
4.Following up trail orders placed to new suppliers, introducing order procedures and cooperation practice to new suppliers.
5.Market research and analysis for China shoes manufacturers.
6.Supplier data base create and update.
7.New tasks related to work upon company growth demand.
8. Reports to – General Manager
9. Monitoring of new materials and technologies used in the manufacture of footwear. Transfer of new technology samples to the Moscow office.
10.Product Inspections and Follow-up
10.1 Conduct bulk inspection in different china areas.
10.2 Inspect materials trimmings parts components and products for color measurements labels and overall quality;
10.3 Make judgment on acceptance and rejection of marginal quality cases;
10.4 Prepare consolidate update and file audit reports;
10.5 Provide technical advice to factories to solve production and quality problems;
10.6 Specify timeframe for factories to implement improvements.
11 Sample inspection:
11.1 Inspect samples(PBI,SHS) including materials trimmings parts components etc.
12 Production Control:
12.1 Communicate customers/quality requirements to factories;
12.2 Provide advice/make judgment of whether the machinery could fulfill the production needs and manufacture quality products;
12.3 Check if materials used for bulk production are of acceptable quality;
12.4 Anticipate quality issues that may arise in the manufacturing process;
12.5 Identify and provide solutions on production and manufacturing problems that might have impaction delivery and/or product quality
Minimum qualifications and requirements are:
1. Thorough understanding of product development process
2. Shoes production knowledge
3. Organizational, time & business management, negotiation skills
4. College degree in Shoes/Fashion design/technology or related field
5. Minimum 5 years experience in shoes industry
6. Readiness to frequent business trips, overtime work, if necessary
7. Good command of English, valid passport for overseas travel
8. Client orientation, ability to work in a team
9. Good knowledge of modern materials and technologies used in the manufacture and design of shoes. (it's the most important!)
10. 3-5 years in Quality Assurance and Quality Control area with footwear buying office/agent or trader;
11. Recognize the importance of meeting quality standards to meet business objectives and brand requirements
12. A team player who can give full effort to meeting brand’s quality standard;
13. Listen to others and is receptive to their ideas and perspectives;
14. Open to ask questions to obtain needed information and flexible to coordinate among relevant parties to resolve-problem issues;
15. Refer problems that cannot be addressed to the appropriate resources in a timely manner;
16. Recognize importance of business relationships and how they influence outcomes;
17. Good time management skills to allow sufficient time to complete tasks to meet assigned deadlines;
18. Good energy level to adapt to travel mobility.
19. Good reading and writing in English is a plus
20. Good computer skills
21. Readiness to travel frequently to the footwear factories
