Job : Gas Specialist – Senior Development Engineer, Team Asia and South Pacific

Objective: We are looking for a candidate for our Asia and South Pacific (AP) team of Global Gas Technology Organization (GTO), located in the Hangzhou Electrolux factory.

The team will be able to cover local as well as global requirements and has to progressively build the competence to directly support components development, validation and implementation for all regions.

The Gas Specialist has the responsibility to evaluate, develop, test and validate technology solutions for new products/modules/systems and current product improvements by generation, evaluation, analysis, development and validation of gas component and gas system design concepts for Food Preparation across all the regions.

The candidate will report to the local GTO team Manager and will work fully aligned with team performance objectives.

Key operational responsibilities: Support the Global GTO organization for execution of its development activities.

The Gas Specialist will be responsible for the following areas:

? drive the execution of GTO development project/activities to deliver gas Technology Roadmap and according to modularization guidelines of gas subsystems

? identify and define requirements specification, and validate functionality, performance and reliability, taking care of manufacturability, quality and safety requirements to meet the specified function/features, quality and cost targets;

? application of formal evaluation methodologies for test and validation of gas modules, components and subsystems

? develop detailed design and test specifications to meet the specified function/features, quality and cost targets

? create design options to meet design specifications, manufacturing processes and assembly requirements

? participate in system and subsystem reviews and in global GTO projects

? participate in supplier evaluation and selection

? follow up the introduction of new technologies into products

? evaluation and optimization of components for quality and safety improvement

Key functional qualifications:

? works in autonomy, is trusted as technically competent, reliable in delivery and perform assignments

? technical performance: masters mechanics and fluidodynamics/combustion and has a good knowledge of product and process technologies

? demonstrates good interpersonal and written communication skills

? is able to clearly present technical information to groups such as project/team meetings

? has a robust, structured and professional engineering approach in all activities

? is able to generate several alternative solutions and evaluate their feasibility

? understands project management principles and supports projects metrics and deliverables

? interact with suppliers on technical development

? has a good understanding of product cost structure and the financial impact of engineering on the business

? demonstrated ability in finalizing high quality technical studies/assignments

? successful design/redesign and implementation into production of components, cost reductions or service and quality improvements.

At least 4 years of strong experience in Research and Development in home appliances or similar business areas (gas products preferably), of which 1 year leading projects in an international organization/company.

Competence for development of products for the local market and relationship and communication abilities with Chinese and Asian companies, suppliers and regulatory agencies are preferred, together with capabilities to communicate with all functional interfaces in an international environment.

? Fluent in Mandarin

? Excellent English skills in both spoken and written

Other Requirements:

? knowledge of 3D design tool (CATIA is preferred);

? availability to travel domestic and international for business trips

Within two-three years the successful candidate shall be able to gain and demonstrate global development capabilities and relationships for the excellence in the technology function.
