Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the purpose of this position is to take full ownership of financial accounting and compliance for the Group’s China operations. The Finance Manager, China will focus on delivering accurate and timely financial information as and when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Initial

• Responsible for establishing the China Finance Team. The team will be established with guidance from the Group function and within the Group’s already established structures and processes.
• Responsible for and providing input into the localisation of the Group ERP for use in China.

Ongoing

• Responsible for month end tasks for the China ledgers within the Group, including:
• Accruals and Provisions;
• Prepayments;
• Fixed assets;
• Intercompany reconciliations;
• Revaluations; and
• Other items as required.
• Preparation of monthly financial reports for China ledgers including balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other internal managements reports as needed.
• Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts (either preparing or reviewing / approving where applicable), including full ownership to ensure accuracy of data.
• Responsible for (including coaching / training) the China Accounts Payable and China Transactional Accounting Teams to ensure accuracy of transactions posted to China ledgers.
• Reviewing and approving transactions posted by the Group Transactional Team.
• Responsible for customer invoicing and managing collections for China entities within Group.
• Liaise with external Auditors in relation to the annual audit and half year review.
• Liaise with the local tax authorities in relation to local tax compliance.
• Assist with the preparation and lodgement of local statutory direct and indirect taxation requirements, including VAT returns and income tax returns.
• Liaise with external Banking contacts where required.
• Assist with the preparation of Annual financial reporting.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and reporting.
• Provide support to SVP, China and Divisional managers in relation to financial queries or requests.
• Assist with process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives;
• Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Group Finance Manager or Vice President, Finance.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Commerce or related field.
• CPA or ACCA qualified [or equivalent Global professional qualification] (preferred).
• 6+ years financial accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
• Experience leading and managing a team.
• Experience using large ERP Systems (Workday advantageous).
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritise and consistently meet deadlines.
