The General Manager is responsible for leading and growing the Relias business in China. The focus of the General Manager is to develop the overall strategy, sell the Relias solution, achieve sales goals, and drive significant revenue growth while overseeing all operations in China. In this role, the General Manager oversees sales, marketing, client care, product, and all aspects of financial performance for the country.

The position Relias is the leader in providing Software as a Service (SaaS) online learning solutions to healthcare professionals across the continuum of care in the United States, with over 10,000 clients. In 2017, Relias expanded its operations to China and currently has a staff of 10 people in Beijing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all operations within the country, including championing the Relias mission and values as well as having personal responsibility for sales, revenue, and profitability
  • Develop strategies to build the Relias business in China
  • Lead and develop a team of ~10 people across various functional areas
  • Personally drive sales as an individual contributor as well as a sales manager
  • Manage all steps of the sales process for new prospects and existing clients
  • Ensure client success with the Relias products and maximize client satisfaction
  • Renew and expand relationships with existing clients
  • Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence for all staff in China
  • Recruit and manage in-country staff in line with the organizational strategy, including performance monitoring, mentoring, and training
  • Develop and manager relationships with Chinese government entities and people ensuring that Relias is able to operate effectively in the Chinese market
  • Communicate and administer company policies to in-country staff
  • Collaborate with sales partners to identify, develop, accelerate, up-sell, and close transactions
  • Create strategies and processes for driving new business
  • Support specific marketing programs, lead generation campaigns, and targeted sales activities
  • Coordinate with Relias leadership in the United States including product, marketing, finance, HR, and top management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Unquestionable integrity, objectivity and independence
  • 10 years’ experience working with or selling to health care organizations
  • Sales management experience, preferably with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company
  • Self-motivated and works well independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong negotiating and strategic selling skills – creating a business plan, assessing territories, qualifying targets and prioritizing sales efforts
  • Ability to deliver the highest standards of customer service
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and adjust to changing priorities
  • Proven ability to drive and thrive in a metrics-driven, process-based environment with high accountability
  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Proven ability to interact with and instill confidence in a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to recruit staff and monitor performance
  • Willingness to travel 40 - 50% of the time

  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (full fluency)
