Key Responsibility:

Leads and supports Safety and Health initiatives within the China Production Research team.

Leads the China production research strategy; operational & capital plans, LRP resourcing; gap analyses; in close connection with the overall Product Supply strategy & pipeline expectations.

Secures a successful research structure for the new Corn pipeline to deliver the needed recommendations for production on a timely basis.

Leads the selection, training and development of people resources and talent within the production research team.

Through the interaction with local stakeholders and global production research, responsible for developing and prioritizing the research plan within PR – short term and long term. This includes parent line and trait research, field production research and plant processing research.

Drives projects which enable the allocated savings target for Production, through technology deployment.

Represents Product Supply at the “Corn Advancement” processes. Key driver to maximize profitability through continuous enhanced yield at the corn inbred level.

Investigates external opportunities for collaboration or investment to enable new tech discovery and development for Product Supply.

Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to prioritize projects and resources, refine project scope, expectations, and potential benefit.

Apply technical expertise to complex challenges impacting Product Supply; from research and development through commercially deployed products.

Required Skills/Experience:

PhD degree in an agricultural research science field, or MS degree with at least 5 years of working experience.

Expertise in biology and research methodologies.

Domain knowledge of statistics and data computing.

Strong professional presentation and communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary/multicultural research team.

Strong sense of ownership: Ability to initiate and lead new projects.

Prioritizing among competing tasks/projects according to business value/needs.

Passion to grow and willingness to be intellectually challenged; willingness to influence and inspire others.
