ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Product Engineer responsibility includes but is not limited to:

• Design development
• Responsible for design creation and troubleshooting from prototype to production phase (DFM, DFA, DFMEA)
• Main engineering contact for customer. Participates in APQP process with program manager
• Plans bench validation campaigns through DVP&R
• Leads design reviews; extensive communication with manufacturing teams, program managers, Sales team, Quality teams ,Test labs on global scale
• Change Management process (initiate and track ECN/ECR)
• CAE and 3D
• Plans simulation needs (mechanical and casting)
• Supports CAE group in FEA set-ups
• 2D Drawings
• Review of drawing feasibility with Chassix manufacturing locations
• GD&T and release activities (approvals)
• ID special characteristics
• Supplier interaction
• Directs design integration with final product and judges requests for changes
• Prepares release contents

QUALIFICATIONS:

Academic:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Mechanical engineering tools: Catia, UG, Hyperworks, nCode (fatigue), Abaqus
• Use of Ms Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Skills

Skills :

• Ability to deal with multiple levels of people effectively, in group and individual settings
• Ability to effectively deal with vendors/suppliers/customers
• Basic computer literacy
• Basic math and business writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and manage projects to successful completion
• Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks

Experience:

• 0-2 years experience
• Automotive industry knowledge/interest (suspension)
• Metallic materials behavior, metallurgy
• GD&T experience and statistical knowledge
• Manufacturing knowledge or experience (machining, casting, assembly, automation) is a plus
