JOB SUMMARY:

• Support Procurement, Supplier Quality, Planning and Logistic interfaces between IDEXX and the supply base in Asia.

• Manage Asia-sourced products / materials planning and logistics in conjunction with IDEXX Supply Network to ensure product availability and delivery targets. Responsible for logistical support for supplier site visits.

• Assist to identify, qualify and to select new suppliers in Asia. Support the negotiation and management of supply contracts / agreements.

• Support the development, validation and on-going output of supplier based processes using technical knowledge, lean manufacturing and statistical techniques and feedback from IDEXX internal processing, to meet IDEXX requirements for quality, capacity and cost.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support to manage interactions with local suppliers.

• Responsible for Planning and Logistic interfaces between Corp IDEXX and local supply base to ensure product / material availability.

• Responsible for managing and supporting IDEXX business visitors’ local logistics relating to supplier site visits.

• Support qualification of new suppliers; assist in managing adherence to existing supplier contracts and establishing / executing sourcing strategies.

• Support Supplier Quality for corrective actions and quality management programs with suppliers for problem containment and resolution.

• Support implementation of continuous process improvement strategies with key suppliers to meet procurement goals for improved quality and reduced product cost.

• Collaborate with IDEXX quality function and suppliers to deliver analyze and determine supplier process capabilities to ensure that suppliers are capable of adhering to required CTQ’s.

• Work with applicable World Wide Supply Network members to initiate and communicate supplier performance measures.

• Perform day to day problem solving and debugging using Six sigma tools and methodologies.

• Support to manage supplier corrective actions and lead activities to improve supplier performance.

• Develop working relationships internal and external to IDEXX with integrity.

• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree or higher. Chemical or Life Science engineering discipline required. Other disciplines may be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of three-year relevant work experience with manufacturing control systems.

• A background involving work with suppliers and supply chain organizations, including but not limit to working with product planning, international / domestic logistics.

• Demonstrated problem solving experience associated with manufacturing with a wide range of products.

• Experience in design, quality and manufacturing engineering during product development, new product introduction and product/process qualification.

• Six sigma / lean manufacturing experience.

  
  

  REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Efficient in English and Chinese for verbal communications, presentations, reading / writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, etc. Other Asian language skills a plus.

• Efficient in business computing skills, including but not limited to MS Office applications in both PC and Mac environments. Mastering in SAP, Minitab, JMP a plus.

• Capable to perform engineering and non-engineering applications.

• Must be able to work in environments requiring strong team work, diplomacy and confidentiality between multiple organizations.

• Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information and respond to questions from technical groups and management at all levels.

• Must be able to perform well both autonomously and in teams.

  
  

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Domestic and international travels required. Off local business hour works expected.
