Job Scope:

Manufacturing engineer is responsible for initiating, coordinating, and implementing projects or activities necessary to stabilize, control, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and procedures for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

Participate in New Product Development activities. Facilitate the implementation of the Vernay Quality System of quality management aimed at the continuous improvement of quality and reduction of waste including the prevention, the detection and correction of quality problems.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Assist in providing a safe, healthy and clean work environment.

• Customer Satisfaction/service.

• Participate with the team in the ongoing training of employees.

• Reduce or eliminate waste in new or existing products, processes, and systems.

• Improve customer satisfaction internally and externally.

• Lead the integration of new products and processes into manufacturing.

• Capacity and capital Planning.

• Production Area team member.

• Manufacturing cost reduction.

• Safety and Housekeeping

• Continuous improvement in systems in the plant

• Actively participate in 5S program by achieving and consistently maintaining 3S in personal work area. Participate in rotating 5S schedule as auditor for local facility and owner for local common areas.
  

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor degree in a technical field (mechanical, chemical, industrial or electric, etc.).

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing role. Experience in the rubber industry is a plus.

• Functional knowledge of SPC, JIT, ISO9001, Hydraulics/Pneumatics and Heat Transfer

• Previous Lean experience desirable

• Mandarin mother-tongue.

• Fluency in English – written and spoken.

• Availability to travel and commute to global customer base and other Vernay plants.

• Functional knowledge/skills:

o Hydraulics/Pneumatic and heat transfer

o Industrial Engineering basics (time studies, machine utilization studies, etc.)

o ISO 9001, IATF16949, ISO14001

o SPC

o Design of Experiments training

o Quality planning processes (FMEA, control plans, flow diagrams),

o Structured problems solving skills and Problem solving tools (KT, 8-D, root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams),

o Computer software (Windows, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.),

o Blue Print Reading,

o Project Management
