Job Summary

The Area Technical Manager (ATM) provides technical assistance to customers in terms of immediate and modified release solid dose formulation development, trouble shooting and small scale and commercial scale trial support. Position requires the ability to speak and present at internal and external training seminars on coating process development, optimization and scale-up and core formulation development. The ATM will manage projects at Colorcon and/or at customer site. The ATM is the product performance specialist of Colorcon.

The ATM role is home based and is open to all locations. He or she will be responsible for the business in Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan Provinces.

Main Responsibilities

• Be responsible for technical support activities and coordination of Colorcon technical resources to ensure project success.

• Lead technical application discussions with customers and sales teams using the various technical information tools available.

• Recommend optimal colour/pigment selection based on customers desired target markets and associated regulatory requirements. Coordinate communications between the customer and Colorcon Regulatory department.

• Understand the key features and benefits of all Colorcon products. Recommend their application based on customers’ drug release, formulation and processing requirements.

• Coordinate the provision of Colorcon product samples to the customer in a timely fashion in close cooperation with the sample lab. Provide clear and detailed instructions to the sample laboratory.

• Extensively travel to customers’ research and manufacturing sites to promote and support the use of Colorcon products.

• Prepare and present technical information (oral and written) for both internal and external training seminars and product promotion events.

• Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) group and Quality Control in technology transfer of new products.

• Use CRM to request samples, maintain trial database, and capture notes of key customer interactions.

• Apply new tools to improve capability of first time right and troubleshooting.
  

Requirements：

• Integrity.

• Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutics or related scientific discipline required. Advanced degree preferred

• Minimum of three years experience in pharmaceutical laboratory or industrial pharmacy environment with an emphasis on solid dosage formulation for both immediate and modified release applications.

• An understanding of the pharmaceutical development and registration process is preferred.

• Knowledge of fluid bed equipment, perforated pan coating equipment, granulators, tablet presses, encapsulates and tablet/capsule printers preferred

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

• Excellent reading and writing in English are required, fluent oral English is preferred.

• Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Extensive travel required (up to 50%), inherent to customer project support and technical promotions.
