An internship position is available at the Chamber’s Beijing Office. The intern will assist the Government Relations Manager.
Key responsibilities including monitoring the industrial and trade developments in China and the EU, responding to inquiries on Chinese laws, regulations and policies, and supporting the activities of the Government Affairs Department and the Government Affairs Forum. The position also involves supporting the supervisors with the coordination and organization of GA Forum meetings as well as with the drafting of the European Business in China Position Paper.
Specific Duties
Skills & experience
1. Native mandarin with excellent command of spoken and written English;
2. Excellent interpersonal skills (strong sense of responsibility, attention to details and communication skills etc.) with self-motivation to learn and achieve from an internship;
3. Basic understanding of the Chinese government structure and legislation process;
4. Industry knowledge, strong personal interest and/or previous experience in trade policy lobbying are a key asset.
5. Students majoring in law, economics, political sciences or language studies are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.
This internship runs for 6 months. Eligible candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor or postgraduate program and willing to work at the office for 5 days per week.
The intern will receive a stipend of 2,000 RMB (net) per month from the fourth month of the internship onwards. Upon successful completion of the internship, a letter of recommendation signed by the Chamber Secretary General will be provided.

- Analyse and compile Calls for Comments on legislation drafts;
- Compile and disseminate daily government updates;
- Regulatory and market research;
- Write meeting minutes and general reports;
- English-Chinese translation, occasional oral translations;
- Track lobby activities;
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Government Relations Manager.
