General Summary

Through research and partnership in materials science, fiber technology, textile engineering, and chemistry, you are in charge of improving technical performance and reducing environmental impact of CM’s products. You will work on extensive research, identification, acquisition, and development of novel and sustainable textiles and technologies for use in CM’s products. You must use academic and industry knowledge, supplier networks, publications, and research to develop applicable technologies that benefit CM’s product lines through enhanced performance, sustainability, and intellectual property protection. You must understand the competitive strategy and position of each product line to guide innovative materials solutions into each of CM’s product categories. This position is equal parts scientific research, lab testing, and project management applied to innovative concepts. You are responsible for reporting, progress, results and performance metrics to the upper management. Performance metrics includes project execution and financial performance.

Essential Job Functions

1.Technology development to create relevant, innovative textile and related process solutions

2.Manage field and lab testing of products in collaboration with Quality department and Textile engineering

3.Manage projects to drive milestone execution

4.Develop and maintain accurate testing and sample database

5.Lead team meetings

6.Report performance metrics for project execution and financial performance

7.Ensure that company standards for quality and environmental impacts are met

8.Manage and ensure each prototypes and sale samples are delivered with timely delivery approvals to ensure CM's standards as well as on-time deliveries

9.Maintain contact with the users and customers to get feedback on field needs and product performance

10.Maintain contact and collaboration with internal stakeholders (Purchasing, Customer service, Project management, Quality, Production) to ensure supply chain relevance and feasibility

11.Collaborates with factories to new product innovation

12.Understand and implement forms of relevant legal documents/agreements

13.Attend key trade shows and conferences to develop a broad range of knowledge and network

Physical Requirements

1.Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time

2.Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment

3.Must be able to travel internationally and domestically utilizing various transportation

Minimum Job Requirements

1.Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Textile Chemistry, Polymer Science or Materials Science. 2.Advanced degrees preferred 5+ years in technical textile, chemistry development or polymer science industry, manufacturing innovative household and cleaning products

3.Experience working with textiles

4.Extreme attention to detail required and a proven ability to establish and maintain schedules and deadlines

5.Working knowledge of personal computers with demonstrated experience in the use of such programs as: Word, Excel, Microsoft power point

6.Strong collaborative tendencies and team development skills.

7.Ability to gather appropriate input and make clear, well-reasoned decisions

8.Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility

9.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations in English
